Natural Products: Ceramicá

Apollo Ceramicá is a sintered stone, engineered for extreme resistance and maximum mineral purity.

New to the market, Apollo Ceramicá worktops boast impressive mechanical properties, combined with a stunning selection of finishes which range from the blackest black to the whitest white, and covering a number of stylish marbled designs in between.

Detailed below, is an overview of relevant considerations when choosing Apollo Ceramicá.

Properties of Apollo Ceramicá Worktops

Marbled Finish

The ‘Sand’ collection of Apollo Ceramicá finishes have a fine marbled texture, which continues throughout the materials full thickness. This mottled finish is consistent in colour and overall frequency, but can vary between large and small product samples.

Drainer Grooves & Axix sinks

Draining grooves in Apollo Ceramicá will show a continuation of the surface finish, due to the full bodied finish of the material. Axis Sinks are made of the same material. Due to the weight, these need to be supported underneath with metal framing.

Colour Purity

Colours within the Apollo Ceramicá range are tightly quality controlled, yet still produced using natural minerals. Negligible inclusions or flecks may still be present, but these are considered within tolerance if not visible from a viewing distance of 1 meter.

Finish / Texture

Apollo Ceramicá comes in three finishes, Gloss, Satin & Honed. Gloss finishes are slightly more prone to scratches than Satin or Honed, and should not be cut onto directly.

Joints

Apollo Ceramicá worktops have visible joints. Pieces will have a small, silicone sealed inwards ariss. The marbled texture of the Sand range will show a break in continuation where joints occur.

Slab Size Limitations

Slab sizes in Ceramicá are 3365mm x 1460mm. This may mean that some designs require linear jointing for both surfaces and upstands. Corners will typically involve 2 sections to prevent the risk of breakage in transport. Ease of installation may be considered when deciding upon joints in your design.

Corners & Material Cost

Designs which include non-right angled corners may incur additional material cost, due to the wastage of material. Where worktops with irregular shaping need to be produced, the cost is calculated based on the long edge.

Care & Maintenance

Apollo Ceramicá worktops are impervious to moisture, UV & mildew, and highly resistant to heat, impact, scratches, abrasion and staining. Worktops are chemically treated to activate extra resistance on the surface, and will require very little maintenance.
